Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of the law of fasting (Hukum Puasa) at SDN 07 Kampung Jawa II through the implementation of the Discovery Learning model. The law of fasting is a fundamental concept in Islamic teachings that requires students to understand both the religious significance and the specific rules related to fasting during the month of Ramadan. This research involves 30 students from grade 5, conducted in two cycles. In the first cycle, students are introduced to the concept of fasting through exploration activities where they discover key concepts about the laws of fasting through guided questions and interactive discussions. In the second cycle, students engage in deeper discussions and apply their understanding through group activities and presentations. Data is collected through pre- and post-tests, observations, and interviews to evaluate changes in students' knowledge and attitudes regarding the law of fasting. The findings show significant improvement in students' comprehension and their ability to explain the laws of fasting in Islam. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning model in promoting active learning and deeper understanding of religious concepts among elementary school students.
