Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of the rights and obligations of a Muslim at UPT SDN 31 Koto Pulai through the implementation of the Cooperative Learning model. The rights and obligations of a Muslim are fundamental concepts in Islamic teachings that need to be understood by students to practice Islam properly. This research involves 30 fifth-grade students, and it is conducted in two cycles. In the first cycle, the cooperative learning model is applied to engage students in group discussions and collaborative tasks, allowing them to explore the concepts of rights and obligations within an Islamic framework. The second cycle builds on the first by integrating more interactive activities and peer teaching to reinforce understanding. Data is collected through pre- and post-tests, observations, and interviews to assess changes in students' knowledge and attitudes. The results show a significant improvement in students' comprehension of their rights and obligations as Muslims, as well as increased participation in discussions and activities. This study demonstrates that cooperative learning is an effective method to foster active engagement and deeper understanding of Islamic teachings among elementary school students.
