Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of the concept of charity (sedekah) and its virtues through the Discovery Learning model at SDN 30 Sijunjung. The research focuses on how the Discovery Learning approach can help students explore and internalize the values of charity, encouraging them to practice generosity in their daily lives. The study was conducted in two cycles, with data collected through pre- and post-tests, student reflections, and teacher observations. The findings revealed that the Discovery Learning model effectively improved students' knowledge and awareness of the importance of charity, as well as their ability to apply it in their social interactions. The active learning process, where students were encouraged to discover and discuss the significance of charity, contributed significantly to their engagement and motivation. The results show that when students are actively involved in exploring the material, they better understand and value the teachings of charity. This research concludes that using the Discovery Learning model in teaching sedekah can foster positive attitudes and behaviors in students, making them more empathetic and generous.
