Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of charity (sedekah) and its virtues through the implementation of the constructivist learning model at SD Negeri 19 Lurah Barangin. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The constructivist approach was chosen to encourage students to actively construct their knowledge by connecting the concept of charity with real-life experiences. Data were collected using observation sheets, interviews, and questionnaires to assess the students' engagement and comprehension. The results showed a significant improvement in the students' understanding of the importance of charity in Islam, as well as their willingness to practice charity in daily life. This research highlights the effectiveness of the constructivist model in making religious teachings more meaningful and relevant for young learners. By providing opportunities for active participation and reflection, students were able to internalize the values of charity and its significance. This study offers insights into how constructivist learning strategies can be applied to moral education in primary schools, particularly in fostering a deeper understanding of Islamic values.
