Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve students' understanding of Islamic teachings regarding halal and haram foods through the Inquiry-Based Learning model at UPT SDN 08 Koto Berapak. The study focuses on how the inquiry model can enhance students' ability to critically explore and understand the concepts of halal and haram foods in Islam, encouraging them to make informed choices. The research was conducted in two cycles, involving pre- and post-tests, observations, and reflections. The findings revealed that the Inquiry-Based Learning model significantly improved students' comprehension of halal and haram foods by engaging them in active questioning, discussion, and exploration of real-life examples. This approach encouraged students to connect the theoretical concepts with practical decisions in their daily lives. Furthermore, students exhibited increased motivation and curiosity about Islamic dietary laws. The study concludes that the Inquiry-Based Learning model is an effective method for fostering a deeper understanding of religious teachings and promoting critical thinking skills among students, particularly in relation to Islamic dietary laws.
