Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of charity (sedekah) and its virtues through the implementation of the Discovery Learning model at UPT SDN 11 Teluk Betung. The study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The Discovery Learning model encourages students to explore and discover knowledge on their own, which helps them develop a deeper understanding of the topic. In this study, students were given opportunities to engage in activities such as group discussions, storytelling, and role-playing to understand the significance of charity in Islam. Data were collected using observation sheets, interviews, and questionnaires to assess students' engagement and comprehension of the topic. The results showed significant improvement in students’ understanding of charity, with increased participation and enthusiasm in learning. By using the Discovery Learning model, students were able to connect the concept of charity to their daily lives and internalize its values more effectively. This research highlights the effectiveness of Discovery Learning in making moral and religious lessons more engaging and meaningful for primary school students.
