Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve students' Hafalan Tahfidz performance through enhancing their Qur'an reading ability at SMP N 2 Lembah Melintang. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The study focuses on the correlation between the students' ability to read the Qur'an and their ability to memorize and deliver their Tahfidz setoran. Data were collected using observation sheets, interviews, and tests to assess the students' Qur'an reading proficiency and their progress in Hafalan Tahfidz. The results showed significant improvement in both the students' Qur'an reading ability and their Tahfidz performance. After implementing the action plans, students became more confident and efficient in their memorization and recitation of the Qur'an. This research demonstrates that improving the foundational skill of Qur'an reading can positively influence students' memorization and setoran performance in Tahfidz. The findings suggest that a structured approach to improving reading skills can be an effective strategy for enhancing overall Hafalan Tahfidz performance in a school setting.
