Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' awareness of maintaining cleanliness through the lens of Islamic teachings, using the Cooperative Learning model, specifically the Jigsaw type, at MAN 17 Jakarta. Cleanliness is an important aspect of Islam, emphasized in daily practices and rituals, but often overlooked by students. The Jigsaw cooperative learning model encourages active student participation, collaboration, and shared responsibility, making it an effective strategy for instilling the value of cleanliness. The research was conducted in three cycles, involving pre-test and post-test assessments to measure students' understanding and behavior regarding cleanliness. The results indicate significant improvements in both the knowledge and practice of cleanliness among the students. Through group discussions, peer teaching, and collaborative problem-solving, students developed a deeper appreciation for the role of cleanliness in Islam. This study suggests that integrating Islamic values with cooperative learning strategies can be a powerful tool for character building and moral development.
