Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to explore the application of the Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) model to enhance students' understanding of Islam as a Rahmatan Lil-Alamin (a mercy for all the worlds) at MAN 1 Brebes. The research was motivated by the need to improve students’ comprehension of Islamic teachings, particularly the concept of Islam as a universal and inclusive religion. The Inquiry-Based Learning model encourages students to actively engage in the learning process by questioning, exploring, and discovering knowledge through investigation and critical thinking. This approach is believed to foster a deeper understanding and connection to the subject matter. The research involved cycles of planning, action, observation, and reflection, with data collection methods including interviews, observation sheets, and student assessments. The findings of this study indicated that the IBL model significantly improved students’ ability to relate Islamic teachings to real-life situations, fostering a more inclusive and compassionate view of Islam. This research contributes to the development of effective teaching strategies for religious education, particularly in the context of Islamic values in the modern world.
