Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to explore the role of children within Muslim families by implementing the Direct Instruction model at SMAN 3 Lengayang. The role of children in a Muslim family is significant, as they are expected to uphold Islamic values, contribute to family welfare, and embody the principles of respect, responsibility, and care. However, the understanding and practice of this role among students is often underexplored. The Direct Instruction model, which emphasizes teacher-led explanations and structured learning activities, was chosen for its ability to deliver clear and direct guidance to students. The research was conducted in three cycles, with data collected through observations, questionnaires, and assessments. The results showed that students’ awareness of their roles and responsibilities within their families improved significantly. The Direct Instruction model proved effective in facilitating the understanding of family roles, fostering respect for family values, and enhancing students’ moral development. This study highlights the importance of integrating religious and moral education into daily learning processes to cultivate well-rounded individuals who understand and fulfill their roles in the family according to Islamic teachings.
