Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve the fine motor skills of children in RA Perwanida III Nata by implementing sensory motor activities. Fine motor skills, which include small muscle movements such as gripping, drawing, and using utensils, are crucial in the early development stages of children. The study was conducted in two cycles, each involving a series of planned sensory motor activities tailored to stimulate children’s hands-on engagement and coordination. The research adopted a qualitative approach, focusing on observation and documentation of children's responses to the activities. The findings show that engaging children in hands-on tasks, such as playdough manipulation, drawing, and simple object manipulation, significantly improved their hand-eye coordination and dexterity. This study highlights the importance of incorporating play-based learning strategies into early childhood education to promote cognitive and physical development. It suggests that teachers should design activities that stimulate sensory and motor development to enhance children’s overall learning experience. The research concludes that sensory motor activities are an effective tool for improving fine motor skills in preschool children.
