Main Article Content
Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to explore the effectiveness of the Jigsaw method in enhancing students' understanding of Quran and Hadith materials at MTs Tahfizh Al-Azhar Sadah. The research focuses on improving both cognitive and social skills of students by fostering collaborative learning. The Jigsaw method, a cooperative learning strategy, is designed to engage students in small group discussions, where each member is responsible for learning and sharing specific content, contributing to the overall understanding of the topic. This study involves 30 students from the 8th grade of MTs Tahfizh Al-Azhar Sadah, who were selected based on their average academic performance in Quran and Hadith subjects.
The research was conducted in two cycles. In the first cycle, students were introduced to the Jigsaw method and assigned Quran and Hadith topics. The results indicated improvements in their engagement and comprehension compared to traditional lecture-based methods. The second cycle involved more in-depth application, with students presenting their findings to the class, enhancing their public speaking and teamwork skills. Data was collected through observations, questionnaires, and students’ performance assessments before and after the intervention.
The findings show that the Jigsaw method significantly increases student participation, improves their understanding of the Quran and Hadith, and encourages a collaborative learning environment. Moreover, the research highlights the importance of cooperative learning in fostering positive student interactions and creating a more dynamic learning atmosphere.
