Abstract
This classroom action research aims to improve the listening skills of Group B children through the implementation of the picture-based storytelling method at RA Hidayatul Islamiyah, Cipayung, East Jakarta. The study was conducted in two cycles using the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The background of this research is the limited ability of children to listen attentively and understand stories presented during classroom activities.Picture-based storytelling combines visual and auditory stimuli to help children focus, comprehend content, and respond to spoken narratives. During the learning process, the teacher used colorful storybooks and illustrated media while telling stories, and then encouraged students to recall and discuss the content they had heard.vThe results showed a significant improvement in children's listening abilities. In the first cycle, only 52% of children met the expected listening criteria, while in the second cycle, the number increased to 88%. Children became more attentive, responsive, and enthusiastic in participating during storytelling sessions.vIn conclusion, picture-based storytelling is an effective method to enhance young children's listening skills. It creates an engaging learning atmosphere while supporting the development of early language and communication skills.
