Abstract
This classroom action research aims to improve the expressive language skills of Group B children through the implementation of role-playing activities at RA Al Ikhwan School. The study was conducted in two cycles, using the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research was motivated by the limited ability of children to express their thoughts verbally, such as telling stories, asking questions, or conveying ideas confidently during classroom activities. Role-playing is a method that allows children to imitate real-life situations, act out characters, and interact with peers in meaningful contexts. In this study, various scenarios such as visiting the market, going to the doctor, and classroom routines were used to stimulate children’s speaking abilities and encourage them to use new vocabulary naturally. The results showed significant improvement in expressive language skills. In the first cycle, only 47% of children met the expected standard. After modifications in teaching strategy, this increased to 87% in the second cycle. Children became more confident, articulate, and enthusiastic during learning. In conclusion, role-playing is an effective and enjoyable method for enhancing expressive language development in early childhood education and should be integrated regularly in classroom activities.
