Abstract

This Classroom Action Research was conducted at RA Darul Ulum, Mojorejo Village, Kemlagi District, Mojokerto Regency, aiming to improve children's speaking skills through storytelling using hand puppets in Group B. Speaking ability is an essential part of early childhood language development, but many children still show limited vocabulary and confidence in expressing themselves verbally. The research was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The method used involved interactive storytelling sessions where hand puppets served as visual and engaging media to stimulate children's participation. Data collection techniques included observation sheets, field notes, and interviews. The results showed a significant improvement in children's speaking ability after the implementation of the method. Children became more enthusiastic, confident, and active in expressing ideas and retelling stories. The percentage of children achieving the expected speaking development indicators increased from 50% in the pre-cycle to 85% by the end of the second cycle. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the use of hand puppets in storytelling activities effectively enhances expressive language skills among early childhood learners. It is recommended that teachers incorporate creative media such as puppets to foster a fun and supportive learning environment for language development.
