Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve the social skills of early childhood students through role-playing profession activities in Group B of RA Muslimat NU 01 Seputih Banyak, Central Lampung. The study was conducted in two cycles, each including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 15 children aged 5–6 years. Data were collected through observation sheets, documentation, and teacher field notes. In the first cycle, only 53% of the children showed indicators of good social interaction, such as cooperation, turn-taking, and expressing ideas. After revising the strategy by providing more structured scenarios and involving children in group-based role-play (e.g., doctor, cashier, teacher), the second cycle showed a significant increase, with 87% of children displaying improved social behaviors. The role-play method helped children explore emotions, communicate verbally, and solve simple social problems in a safe and imaginative environment. The findings suggest that profession-based role-playing is an effective and enjoyable way to enhance young children’s social development. It allows them to learn how to interact, collaborate, and empathize with others in meaningful contexts. Teachers are encouraged to integrate this method into daily learning to support the holistic development of children
