Abstract

This research aims to implement a traditional game-based learning method to enhance social skills and fine motor skills in children at RA Al-Hidayah Buntok. Early childhood development focuses on the improvement of social and motoric abilities, which are essential for children’s growth. Traditional games, which are often underused in modern education systems, provide a rich opportunity for children to develop through interactive and physical activities. The study involves children in Group B at RA Al-Hidayah Buntok, using games like sorongan (push cart), lompat tali (jump rope), and giring bola (ball rolling), all of which require coordination, teamwork, and hand-eye coordination. The method used in this study is classroom action research (CAR), comprising planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data were collected through observations and field notes during the games and analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis. Results indicated that children’s social interactions improved through collaborative play, while their fine motor skills developed as they manipulated objects and coordinated movements. The findings suggest that traditional games can be a valuable tool in early childhood education, offering a fun and effective approach to enhancing both social and motor skills in children.
