Abstract
This research aims to implement a culture-based learning method in early childhood education at RA Muslimat NU 061 Miftahussalam to enhance children’s creativity and social skills. Early childhood education plays a crucial role in fostering the development of various skills, including social interaction and creativity. By integrating local arts and culture, such as traditional songs, dances, and crafts, the learning process becomes more engaging and meaningful for young children. This study uses a classroom action research (CAR) approach, which includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research was conducted with a group of children at RA Muslimat NU 061 Miftahussalam, and data were collected through observations, interviews, and children’s work during cultural-based activities. Results indicate that the use of culture-based activities significantly improved children’s creativity, as they actively engaged in artistic expressions such as drawing, singing, and crafting. Moreover, children showed enhanced social skills through collaborative activities, learning to communicate and work together in group settings. This research concludes that incorporating local culture into early childhood education is an effective approach to improving both creativity and social skills in young children.
