Abstract
This classroom action research aims to improve third-grade students’
understanding of worship practices in Fikih by applying the storytelling
method in the learning process at MI Ma'arif Ngargogondo Borobudur
Magelang. The study addresses the challenge that students often find it
difficult to grasp abstract religious concepts through traditional teaching
methods. By using storytelling, which involves narrative learning
experiences related to Islamic worship, students can better relate to the
subject matter and internalize its values. The research was conducted in two
cycles, where students listened to stories about various acts of worship such
as wudhu, prayer, and fasting, followed by discussions and activities. Data
were collected through observation, student tests, interviews, and
documentation. The results showed a significant improvement in students'
understanding and retention of worship practices. Students became more
engaged and demonstrated greater enthusiasm in participating in
discussions. This approach also improved students’ ability to apply
religious knowledge in their daily lives. The storytelling method proved to
be an effective tool in making Fikih learning more engaging and accessible,
allowing students to better understand and connect with the concept of
worship. Based on these findings, it is recommended to integrate
storytelling in Fikih education.
