Abstract
This classroom action research aims to improve the narrative writing skills
of fourth-grade students at MIS Al-Ittihad Tukum by implementing the
Project-Based Learning (PBL) method. The study responds to the observed
challenges in students' writing skills, particularly in organizing ideas and
expressing them in a coherent narrative. The research was conducted in two
cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection
stages. In the first cycle, students worked in groups to create a narrative
story based on a theme they chose together. This collaborative process
allowed students to improve not only their writing skills but also their
teamwork and problem-solving abilities. The results showed a significant
improvement in students' ability to write coherent and creative narratives.
By the end of the second cycle, most students were able to write a wellorganized narrative, demonstrating an increase in both their writing
confidence and creativity. The findings suggest that the PBL method can be
an effective approach in enhancing students' narrative writing skills,
providing a more engaging and meaningful learning experience. Based on
the results, it is recommended that PBL be integrated into other aspects of
language learning to foster creativity and collaboration in students.
