Abstract

This study aims to improve students' interest and ability in writing essays through the use of visual media in the third-grade students of MI Islamiyah Kedayunan. Writing is an essential skill that students must develop, but many often struggle due to a lack of motivation and creativity. Visual media, such as images, can provide a stimulating tool that sparks students' imagination and enhances their writing skills. This research utilizes a classroom action research (CAR) approach, focusing on the application of image-based media to engage students in the writing process. The data collection methods include observations, interviews, and written assessments to evaluate students' progress. The results show that the use of images as a medium for writing significantly increases students' interest and ability in essay writing. The students became more motivated and actively involved in the writing activities, which led to improved written expression. This research concludes that visual media can effectively support students in developing their writing skills, making the learning process more enjoyable and effective.
