Abstract
This classroom action research aims to improve students’ understanding of the procedures of Wudhu (ablution) through the use of audio-visual media in Class V of MI Negeri 4 Serang, Kecamatan Serang, Kabupaten Banten. The research was conducted over two learning cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The background of this study is the limited understanding among students regarding the steps and intentions (niat) of Wudhu, which affects the validity of their worship. Traditional lecture methods were found to be less effective in helping students internalize the practical aspects of Wudhu. The implementation of audio-visual media, such as instructional videos and animated demonstrations, was expected to provide a more concrete and engaging learning experience. Data were collected through observation, student worksheets, and oral and written assessments. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ comprehension and accuracy in performing Wudhu. Students were more attentive, motivated, and able to remember each step clearly. The findings suggest that audio-visual media are effective tools in Islamic education, especially for teaching procedural religious practices. Therefore, teachers are encouraged to integrate such media to enhance the quality of Fikih learning.
