Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve students' speaking skills in Bahasa Indonesia at MI YMI Lengkok through the implementation of the Think-Pair-Share cooperative learning model. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The study explores how the Think-Pair-Share model can enhance students’ ability to express their thoughts and ideas in Bahasa Indonesia by fostering peer interaction and collaboration. Data were gathered through classroom observations, pre- and post-tests, as well as student feedback. The findings revealed that the Think-Pair-Share model effectively increased student participation, enhanced their confidence, and improved their speaking skills. Students became more active in discussions and showed greater enthusiasm in expressing their opinions. Moreover, they reported feeling more comfortable speaking in front of their peers. This research highlights the potential of cooperative learning in language development, particularly in improving speaking proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia. The results suggest that the Think-Pair-Share model is a valuable strategy for enhancing students’ speaking abilities, promoting collaboration, and creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.
