Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to explore the effectiveness of group discussion methods in enhancing students’ understanding of Fiqh Ibadah (Islamic jurisprudence on worship) at MIS Nurul Falah II. The research focuses on improving the cognitive development of students, particularly in comprehending complex concepts related to Islamic rituals such as prayer, fasting, and zakat. The study was conducted in two cycles, each comprising the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. In the first cycle, students engaged in group discussions to collaboratively analyze various topics from the Fiqh Ibadah curriculum. Based on the outcomes and feedback from the first cycle, improvements were implemented in the second cycle to refine the method. The results indicated a significant enhancement in students’ understanding, as shown through pre- and post-assessments and observational data. This study underscores the value of interactive and collaborative learning approaches in religious education and suggests that group discussions can serve as an effective strategy to deepen students’ comprehension of Islamic teachings.
