Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to implement the Play-Based Learning method to enhance the social and emotional development of children in Group A at RA Lukmanul Hakim. The research was motivated by the need for a more engaging, child-centered approach in early childhood education that supports the development of cooperation, emotional regulation, and self-expression among young learners. Play-Based Learning integrates play into the educational process, allowing children to acquire essential life skills in an enjoyable and developmentally appropriate environment.
The study was conducted in two cycles, each comprising the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Observations and assessments were carried out before and after the implementation of play-based activities, focusing on indicators such as children’s ability to interact positively with peers, manage emotions effectively, and express themselves confidently.
The results demonstrated significant improvements in children’s social interactions and emotional awareness following the implementation of the method. Students became more cooperative, empathetic, and expressive in daily classroom activities. These findings suggest that Play-Based Learning is an effective pedagogical strategy for fostering holistic development in early childhood settings, particularly in strengthening children's social and emotional competencies.
