Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance the socio-emotional skills of children at RA Al-Barkah Neglasari through the implementation of role-playing learning activities. Socio-emotional skills—such as emotional regulation, social interaction, empathy, and self-awareness—are crucial for the holistic development of young learners. The research was carried out in two cycles, each comprising the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through classroom observations, student interviews, and teacher reflections to assess the effectiveness of the role-playing method in nurturing these competencies. The results showed that role-playing provided a supportive environment for children to express emotions, practice problem-solving, and interact positively with their peers. Consequently, the children demonstrated notable improvements in managing emotions and collaborating with others. This study underscores the significance of socio-emotional development in early childhood education and suggests that role-playing is an effective strategy for fostering these essential skills in preschool settings.
