Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance the narrative writing skills of fourth-grade students at MIN 2 Indramayu through the implementation of the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) cooperative learning model. Conducted in two cycles—each comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection stages—the study focuses on improving students' ability to write coherent and creative narrative texts. Data were collected through observations, writing samples, and teacher reflections to evaluate the effectiveness of TPS in encouraging collaboration and improving writing competence. The results showed that TPS significantly boosted student engagement, helped them generate and organize ideas more effectively, and improved the overall clarity and creativity of their writing. Peer interactions during the “pair” phase allowed students to refine their thoughts, while class sharing sessions provided valuable feedback. By the end of the study, students displayed increased confidence and proficiency in narrative writing. This research underscores the potential of cooperative learning models like TPS to enhance writing skills and promote active learning in the classroom.
