Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to explore the implementation of an inquiry-based learning model focused on the lives of the companions of Prophet Muhammad SAW at SMA N 1 Bayang. The study examines how this model can improve students' understanding of Islamic history and foster character development through active learning. The research is conducted in two cycles, utilizing observation, interviews, and student reflections to gather data. By focusing on the lives of the Prophet's companions, the inquiry model encourages students to engage critically with historical material, ask questions, and construct their own understanding. This method not only enhances students' historical knowledge but also nurtures values such as leadership, courage, and integrity, which are exemplified by the companions. The results of this study indicate significant improvements in students' participation, critical thinking skills, and overall academic performance in religious education. The findings also suggest that integrating character-building elements into historical lessons can lead to more meaningful and effective learning experiences.
