Abstract

The activity of reading has now become a very important thing in the Qur'an, so that the first verse revealed in the history of the Qur'an was surah al-Alaq verse 1 which contains a call to read.


The Al-Qur'an is the word of Allah SWT which was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad SAW which was written in mushaf (sheets) to serve as a guide for human life and reading it is considered worship.


It can be concluded that the ability to read the Quran refers to the ability to correctly recite or pronounce the holy book according to the rules of tajweed.


This study aims to improve the Quran reading skills of seventh-grade students at SDN 22 Gunung Tuleh through the application of the drill method. The drill method was chosen because it can help students improve their Quran reading skills more effectively. This study used a classroom action research method with two cycles. The results showed that the drill method can improve the Quran reading skills of seventh-grade students at SDN 22 Gunung Tuleh.
