Abstract

According to Robert K. Yin, a case study is a knowledge-seeking process used to investigate and examine real-life phenomena. Case studies can be used when the boundaries between the phenomenon and real-life context are blurred or unclear. Case studies also utilize various sources as tools for research and evidence. Meanwhile, according to Susilo Rahardjo and Gudnanto, a case study is a method for understanding and understanding a person using inclusive and comprehensive practices. Through these practices, researchers gather individuals who serve as research subjects. Researchers conduct in-depth information gathering for detailed understanding.


This classroom action research aims to improve students' understanding of the concept of sincerity in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in class VI SDN 03 Timpeh  through a case study method. The research subjects were 30 students. Data were collected through comprehension tests, observations of student activities, and interviews. The results of the study showed an increase in understanding of the concept of sincerity from cycle I to cycle II. The average score of cycle I was 58.3, increasing to 80.0 in cycle II. Learning completeness increased from 40% to 86.7%. The case study method is effective in improving students' understanding of sincerity.
