Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve students' understanding of Akidah Akhlak in MTsN 12 Tanah Datar through the application of contextual learning methods. The research is based on the observation that students often struggle to connect religious teachings with their daily lives, leading to a lack of deep understanding in moral and faith-based subjects. The study was conducted in two cycles, each involving planning, action, observation, and reflection. In the first cycle, the teacher implemented contextual learning by incorporating real-life examples and local cultural values. This approach aimed to engage students more effectively and help them relate religious principles to their daily experiences. In the second cycle, improvements were made based on the reflection from the first cycle, ensuring that the learning process was more interactive and student-centered. The results showed an increase in students’ understanding of Akidah Akhlak, as evidenced by improved assessments and active participation in class discussions. The study concludes that contextual learning is an effective approach to enhance students’ comprehension of Akidah Akhlak in MTsN 12 Tanah Datar.
