Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve students' understanding of Islamic History and Culture (SKI) through the implementation of an inquiry-based learning model at MTs Daar el-Qolam, Gintung Jayanti. The research focuses on addressing the challenges faced by students in comprehending historical events and Islamic cultural developments. The inquiry-based model encourages active learning, where students are motivated to ask questions, explore answers, and engage in discussions, thus fostering a deeper understanding of the subject matter. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and student assessments. The findings indicate that the inquiry-based learning model significantly enhances students' interest in the subject, improves their critical thinking skills, and deepens their understanding of Islamic history. This model proved effective in creating a more interactive and engaging learning environment, leading to better academic performance and student participation. The study provides valuable insights for educators looking to adopt innovative teaching strategies to improve the quality of learning in Islamic History and Culture.
