Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding and character development in Akidah Akhlak through a contextual learning approach at MI Al Munawwaroh Merauke. The research focuses on addressing the challenges faced by students in internalizing Islamic values and applying them in everyday life. The contextual approach, which connects learning materials to real-life situations, encourages students to relate Islamic teachings to their personal experiences, thereby fostering a deeper understanding of Akidah Akhlak. The study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews, and student assessments. The findings indicate that the contextual approach significantly improved students' engagement, motivation, and understanding of Akidah Akhlak. Moreover, the approach helped enhance their moral character and ethical behavior. This research highlights the importance of applying relevant and meaningful teaching strategies in developing students' spiritual and moral aspects. It provides valuable insights for educators seeking to integrate character education with religious studies effectively.
