Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding of Mathematics at MI AS Salam Ambon by implementing a contextual learning approach. The research addresses the challenges faced by students in grasping mathematical concepts, especially in connecting abstract ideas with real-life situations. The contextual learning model, which links mathematical concepts to students' everyday experiences, fosters a deeper understanding and greater relevance of the subject. The study was conducted in two cycles, each involving planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data was collected through classroom observations, student assessments, and interviews. The findings show that the contextual approach significantly improved students' engagement and performance in Mathematics. Students became more motivated, active in learning, and better able to apply mathematical concepts to real-world problems. This research highlights the effectiveness of integrating real-life contexts into Mathematics instruction to make learning more meaningful and impactful. It also demonstrates how a well-structured and reflective teaching approach can lead to improved student outcomes.
