Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance students' understanding and application of Fiqh at MI Darul Hikmah by implementing a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach. The study addresses challenges in engaging students with the practical aspects of Fiqh and its relevance to daily life. By using PBL, students are encouraged to solve real-life problems that require the application of Fiqh principles, promoting critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and deeper engagement with the subject. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through classroom observations, student assessments, and interviews. The findings show that the PBL approach significantly improved students' motivation, participation, and understanding of Fiqh. Students demonstrated a better ability to relate the concepts of Fiqh to their daily practices, such as prayer, fasting, and zakat. This research highlights the effectiveness of using a student-centered learning approach to teach Fiqh, as it encourages active learning, collaboration, and real-world application of Islamic teachings. The study provides valuable insights for educators looking to improve Fiqh education in elementary schools.
