Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aimed to enhance students' understanding of the IPAS (Science and Social Studies) subject at MIN 3 Jembrana by implementing a contextual learning approach. The study was conducted in two cycles, involving the planning, action, observation, and reflection phases. The research participants were students from the school’s fourth grade. Data was collected through observations, tests, and interviews to evaluate the effectiveness of the approach. The results showed that the contextual learning method significantly improved the students' engagement and understanding of the IPAS material. Students demonstrated better grasp of concepts when the content was connected to their real-life experiences. This study highlights the importance of context-based learning strategies in enhancing students’ comprehension and motivation. It also suggests that teachers should incorporate real-world applications into their lessons to foster a deeper understanding of the subject matter. This research contributes to the development of effective teaching strategies for IPAS in elementary schools.
