Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to enhance the Indonesian language writing skills of fifth-grade students at MIS Muhammadiyah Al-Fatah Nangahale by implementing a cooperative learning model. The research is motivated by the observation that students have low writing proficiency, particularly in expressing ideas clearly and cohesively. The study uses a cyclical process involving planning, action, observation, and reflection. The cooperative learning model is chosen for its potential to foster active participation, peer collaboration, and critical thinking. Data collection methods include observation, writing assignments, and student interviews. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementing the cooperative learning model, observing student progress, and reflecting on the outcomes. The results show significant improvement in the students’ ability to write organized and coherent texts. The cooperative approach allowed students to learn from each other and encouraged more active participation in the learning process. This study contributes to the understanding of how cooperative learning can be effectively used to improve language skills in elementary education, particularly in Indonesian language subjects.
