Enhancing Student Engagement and Understanding in IPAS (Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial) for Grade V at MIN 7 Jembrana: A Classroom Action Research Approach

Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve the engagement and understanding of Grade V students in the subject of IPAS (Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial) at MIN 7 Jembrana. The research focuses on exploring effective teaching strategies that can enhance students' interest and comprehension of science and social studies topics. The study is conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The first cycle involved the implementation of interactive learning methods, such as group discussions and hands-on activities, to actively involve students in the learning process. In the second cycle, additional strategies like multimedia resources and real-life examples were incorporated to deepen students' understanding. Data was collected through observation, student interviews, and assessments to measure the effectiveness of the intervention. The results indicate significant improvements in students' engagement, participation, and academic performance in IPAS. This research highlights the importance of adapting teaching methods to students' needs and the positive impact of interactive and student-centered learning approaches in enhancing understanding of IPAS topics.
