This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve student engagement and understanding in Indonesian Language lessons for Grade IV students at MI Nurussyifa Timbanuh through active learning strategies. The study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. In the first cycle, the teacher implemented active learning techniques such as group discussions, role-playing, and interactive games to encourage student participation and enhance their learning experience. Observations and assessments were carried out to measure the effectiveness of these strategies in improving student engagement and language skills. In the second cycle, additional interactive methods like storytelling and cooperative learning were incorporated to further engage students and deepen their understanding. The results indicated significant improvement in students' enthusiasm, participation, and comprehension of the material. Students showed increased interest in the lessons, which contributed to better academic performance in reading, writing, and speaking. This research demonstrates that active learning strategies are effective in enhancing the quality of education in Indonesian Language classes, fostering a more dynamic and student-centered learning environment.
