Main Article Content
Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve students' understanding of Integrated Social Studies (IPAS) at MI NW Tanak Mira through collaborative learning strategies. The primary goal is to explore how cooperative activities, such as group discussions, project-based tasks, and peer teaching, can enhance students' comprehension and engagement with IPAS concepts, including geography, history, and culture. The study was conducted over two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. In each cycle, students worked together in groups to solve problems, analyze social issues, and present their findings. Data were collected through classroom observations, assessments, and student reflections. The findings indicate that collaborative learning significantly improved students' ability to understand and apply IPAS concepts, as it fostered active participation, critical thinking, and better communication skills. Students showed increased motivation and enthusiasm for the subject, demonstrating a deeper understanding of social studies. This research suggests that implementing collaborative learning can create a more interactive and engaging learning environment, leading to improved academic performance in IPAS. It is recommended that MI NW Tanak Mira continue to adopt and refine these strategies to further enhance students' academic skills and social awareness.
