Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve students' understanding of Integrated Social Studies (IPAS) at MI Al Mas'udiyah 4 through the application of collaborative learning strategies. The primary objective of this study is to explore how collaborative activities, such as group discussions, peer teaching, and cooperative project-based tasks, can enhance students' comprehension of various IPAS concepts, including geography, history, and social issues. The research was conducted over two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. In each cycle, students worked in groups to solve problems, analyze social phenomena, and present their findings. Data were collected through classroom observations, student assessments, and feedback from both students and teachers. The findings indicate that collaborative learning significantly improved students' ability to understand and apply IPAS concepts, as it fostered teamwork, critical thinking, and better communication skills. Students demonstrated increased engagement and enthusiasm for the subject, showing an improved ability to discuss and analyze social studies topics. This study suggests that collaborative learning provides an interactive and engaging learning environment, leading to enhanced academic performance in IPAS. It is recommended that MI Al Mas'udiyah 4 continue to implement and refine these strategies to further enhance students' understanding and engagement in social studies.
