Main Article Content
Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) study aims to explore the effectiveness of teaching strategies in enhancing students' ability to identify information in reading texts at MIN 27 Aceh Besar. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were fifth-grade students, and data were collected through pre-tests, post-tests, classroom observations, and student feedback. The primary focus of this study was to improve students' reading comprehension skills, specifically their ability to extract key information from various texts. The findings revealed that by incorporating interactive and student-centered learning strategies, such as group discussions and guided reading activities, students significantly improved their ability to identify and understand critical information in texts. Additionally, students became more engaged and motivated in the learning process. The study highlights the potential of applying active learning strategies to develop critical reading skills and recommends further implementation of these strategies to enhance reading comprehension in primary school settings.
