Abstract

This research aims to explore the effectiveness of collaborative learning in enhancing students' understanding of Fiqh at MA Abu Darda'. Fiqh, as a fundamental subject in Islamic education, requires not only theoretical knowledge but also practical application, which can be challenging for students to grasp individually. Collaborative learning, a student-centered approach that emphasizes teamwork, discussion, and shared problem-solving, has the potential to improve student engagement and comprehension of complex topics like Fiqh. The study was conducted in a classroom setting at MA Abu Darda', involving a group of students who were assigned tasks and projects in collaborative groups to study Fiqh topics such as the principles of Islamic law, worship, and daily life conduct.

The research adopted a qualitative approach, using classroom observations, group discussions, and interviews with students and teachers. The results revealed that collaborative learning promoted active participation, increased interaction among students, and enhanced their critical thinking skills. Students showed a better understanding of Fiqh concepts through discussions and debates, where they could share their ideas and challenge each other's perspectives. Additionally, collaborative learning fostered a sense of community and cooperation, which allowed students to learn from one another’s strengths and weaknesses.

Based on the findings, the study recommends that MA Abu Darda’ integrate more collaborative learning strategies into their Fiqh curriculum to support a deeper and more interactive learning experience. This approach not only strengthens students’ comprehension of Fiqh but also prepares them for real-world application of Islamic principles through collective problem-solving and teamwork.
