Abstract

This research aims to explore the effectiveness of interactive learning in enhancing students' understanding of Al-Qur'an and Hadith at MIS Ma'arif NU Sumberagung. The study focuses on how engaging teaching methods, such as group discussions, role-playing, and multimedia use, can improve students’ comprehension and retention of Islamic teachings. Al-Qur'an and Hadith are central to Islamic education, and it is essential for students to develop a deep understanding of these texts to apply their teachings in everyday life. However, traditional methods often fail to engage students actively and meaningfully with these foundational texts.

The research was conducted through a classroom action research (CAR) approach, which involves planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting on teaching practices. The study was carried out in two cycles, each involving different interactive strategies designed to encourage student participation and critical thinking. Data was collected through classroom observations, interviews with students and teachers, and an analysis of student assessments before and after the intervention.

The findings show that interactive learning significantly improved students' understanding of Al-Qur'an and Hadith. Students became more engaged in the learning process, demonstrating better retention of the material and an increased ability to discuss the meanings and applications of Quranic verses and Hadith in real-life contexts. Moreover, students showed greater enthusiasm for learning and developed critical thinking skills, as they were encouraged to question and reflect on the teachings.

Based on these results, the study recommends incorporating more interactive teaching methods into the curriculum at MIS Ma'arif NU Sumberagung to enhance students' engagement and understanding of Al-Qur'an and Hadith, fostering a deeper connection to Islamic values and teachings.
