Main Article Content
Abstract
This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to explore the effectiveness of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) in enhancing students' understanding of Fiqh at MA Al Iman Magelang. Fiqh, as an essential branch of Islamic studies, is often perceived as complex and theoretical, requiring innovative approaches to make the subject matter more relatable and applicable to students’ daily lives. The research focuses on implementing CTL, which emphasizes active student involvement, real-world connections, and collaborative learning to improve engagement and comprehension.
The study was conducted in two cycles, involving students from the 10th grade at MA Al Iman Magelang. Each cycle consisted of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Data collection techniques included observations, interviews, questionnaires, and test results, which were analyzed to evaluate the improvement in students' Fiqh understanding. The results showed a significant increase in students' interest and performance in Fiqh after the implementation of CTL. Students demonstrated a better grasp of the material, applying Fiqh principles to real-life situations, which contributed to their critical thinking and decision-making skills.
This research concludes that the application of CTL in teaching Fiqh not only enhances students' academic performance but also fosters a deeper understanding of Islamic teachings, making the subject matter more engaging and meaningful. The findings suggest that teachers can adopt contextual learning strategies to make Fiqh more accessible and relevant to students, ultimately improving their religious literacy and overall academic achievement.
