Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to investigate the effectiveness of the Cooperative Learning model in enhancing students' understanding of Aqidah Akhlak at MI Al Fadiliyah. Aqidah Akhlak, which covers the fundamental beliefs and moral principles in Islam, is a crucial subject in Islamic education. However, students often face challenges in fully grasping the concepts due to traditional teaching methods that are often teacher-centered and do not encourage active engagement. The Cooperative Learning model, which promotes collaboration, interaction, and group work, is proposed as an alternative approach to improve students' comprehension and application of these concepts.

The study was conducted in two cycles, each involving four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were 5th-grade students at MI Al Fadiliyah. Data was collected using observations, interviews, questionnaires, and pre-and post-tests to assess the impact of Cooperative Learning on students’ understanding of Aqidah Akhlak. The results indicated that after the implementation of the Cooperative Learning model, students showed a significant improvement in their understanding of the subject. They became more engaged, developed critical thinking skills, and demonstrated a better understanding of moral values in their daily lives.

This research concludes that the Cooperative Learning model can effectively enhance students' comprehension of Aqidah Akhlak by fostering a collaborative learning environment. It encourages peer interaction, increases motivation, and allows students to actively participate in the learning process. The findings suggest that this model should be considered as a valuable method for teaching Aqidah Akhlak in Islamic schools.
