Abstract

This research aims to explore the effectiveness of the Cooperative Learning Model in enhancing students' understanding of Islamic Studies (SKI) at MA Unwanul Falah NWDI Paok Lombok. The study is conducted using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, which involves multiple cycles of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection to improve the teaching and learning process. The objective of this research is to determine how Cooperative Learning can improve students' engagement, critical thinking, and comprehension of SKI materials.

The research was conducted in two cycles. In the first cycle, students were introduced to the principles of Cooperative Learning, where they were grouped into small teams to work collaboratively on SKI topics. The tasks assigned encouraged peer discussions, problem-solving, and shared responsibility for learning. In the second cycle, based on reflections from the first cycle, adjustments were made to the cooperative activities, further promoting deeper engagement and interaction among students. The data collected from observations, student participation, and performance in SKI assignments indicated an improvement in students' understanding and interest in the subject.

The findings suggest that the Cooperative Learning Model is effective in fostering an interactive and student-centered learning environment. Students became more active in their learning, showing improved communication skills, better understanding of Islamic Studies concepts, and a higher level of motivation. The research highlights the potential of Cooperative Learning to promote collaborative learning and strengthen students' knowledge of SKI, providing an effective approach to enhance teaching in Islamic education at the secondary school level.
