Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in improving the understanding and application of Qur'an and Hadith among students at RA Darul Aman. As religious education plays a crucial role in shaping the character and spiritual development of young learners, it is essential to adopt engaging and interactive teaching methods that enhance their connection with the Qur'an and Hadith. Traditional methods often fail to engage students actively, limiting their ability to relate religious texts to real-life situations. PBL, which focuses on solving real-world problems through collaborative learning, offers a promising alternative that encourages critical thinking, discussion, and the practical application of knowledge.

The research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study design, involving both teachers and students at RA Darul Aman. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and assessment of student performance in activities related to the Qur'an and Hadith. The study focuses on how PBL influences students' understanding of Islamic texts and their ability to apply them in daily life, particularly in moral decision-making and community interactions.

Findings indicate that PBL significantly increased student engagement and comprehension of Qur'anic verses and Hadith teachings. Students demonstrated better skills in applying the teachings in real-life contexts, with greater participation in discussions and improved presentation of their understanding. The study concludes that PBL is an effective approach for enhancing religious education, fostering deeper connections with Islamic texts, and promoting critical thinking and moral development among students at RA Darul Aman.
