Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) in enhancing the understanding and application of Qur'anic and Hadith teachings among students at MTs. Daarurrohman Rancajaya. The challenge in religious education, particularly in Islamic studies, often lies in the students' ability to relate the teachings of the Qur'an and Hadith to their daily lives. Traditional teaching methods, which often focus on memorization and theoretical learning, may not provide the necessary connection between religious texts and the practical realities of students' lives. In this context, Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) offers an innovative solution by connecting academic content to real-life situations, thereby making learning more meaningful and relevant to students.

The research adopts a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving teachers and students from MTs. Daarurrohman Rancajaya. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and assessments of students' understanding and application of Qur'anic and Hadith principles. The study focuses on how CTL can foster a deeper understanding of religious texts and enhance students' ability to apply the teachings of the Qur'an and Hadith in their everyday decisions and actions.

The findings suggest that the implementation of CTL significantly improves students' engagement, comprehension, and application of Islamic teachings. Students are able to make connections between religious concepts and their own lives, resulting in more meaningful learning experiences. The study concludes that Contextual Teaching and Learning is an effective method for enhancing Qur'anic and Hadith education, helping students integrate religious teachings into their daily lives.
