Enhancing Qur'anic and Hadith Learning through Lecture Method: A Study at MTs Puncakwangi
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to explore the effectiveness of the Lecture Method in enhancing the understanding of Qur'anic and Hadith teachings among students at MTs Puncakwangi. Religious education, particularly the study of the Qur'an and Hadith, plays a vital role in shaping students' moral and spiritual development. However, traditional teaching methods, especially the lecture-based approach, often face criticism for being too passive and not engaging students actively in the learning process. This research investigates whether the Lecture Method, when applied thoughtfully, can still be effective in deepening students' understanding of Islamic texts and fostering a connection between these teachings and daily life.
The research employs a qualitative case study design, involving both teachers and students at MTs Puncakwangi. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and assessments of student comprehension through written tests and oral presentations. The study focuses on how the Lecture Method impacts students' ability to understand and apply the teachings of the Qur'an and Hadith, particularly in relation to their moral behavior and decision-making in everyday life.
Findings suggest that while the Lecture Method may not be as interactive as other methods, it can still significantly enhance students' understanding of Islamic teachings. Students were able to recall and explain key concepts from the Qur'an and Hadith more effectively when the lecture was complemented with clear examples, storytelling, and interactive question-and-answer sessions. The study concludes that, with proper implementation, the Lecture Method remains a valuable tool in teaching Qur'anic and Hadith studies, though it should be supplemented with other methods to increase student engagement.
